Being a Workin' Woman is more difficult than I thought. Hence the fact that I have been an MIA blogger. I'm only working part-time thus far, and it's the last week of school, so you may think that I have it easy. But don't forget that God has just thrust this 40-year-old brain and deteriorating body into a brand new situation.
I'm tired.
But I'm excited because I like my job. I'm working in the school office as a secretary, and it suits me to a T. I'm all about organization, and I love interacting with people. But there is a lot to learn about how things are done, so it's challenging my brain to not only work, but also to retain information. I'm hoping here for a full reversal of the memory loss that comes with aging, because, as it is, I often can't remember the names of my own children, let alone the names of almost 300 children, as well as their families and individual situations!
Oh, and I'm so excited because we just moved our living room around so that I have my own little office space in the corner. When I say little, I sincerely mean little. I have a teeny little rolltop desk that's barely big enough for my laptop. I have a small printer. And I have a mammoth filing cabinet that I picked up from MSU salvage (which is an ugly dark green color, the color that a bruise turns just before your leg falls off), but it tucks neatly into a corner, so I'm happy about that. In other words, even though it's a teeny tiny little space, it's my own little nook and I love it. I should post pictures, but it wouldn't make much difference since I didn't have "before" pictures.
OK, so this is just a check-in to let everyone know that I am indeed still alive and well. Hopefully, summer break will arrive with abundant opportunities to get back to bloggin'.

ReplyDeleteI love my job - especially because it's when I blog!! I barely turn on the computer at home anymore. Just don't tell my boss, okay? ;)
