God's plans are so often different than our own, and that's always a good thing.
If you read my post about a month ago, entitled No Job, you know that I applied for a job at my kids' school and that I was very disappointed when I didn't get it.
Well, it would have been a huge stretch for me personally, to step into a full-time job after having been an at-home Mom for 12 years. It seemed like I had gotten a nudge from the Lord to pursue it, and I did. It seemed like things were going well, and then I got the "thanks, but no thanks" call. That's where that post ended.
But the opportunity didn't end there. The following week, I went into the principal's office to say "thank you" for encouraging me to apply, and to ask him to keep me in mind for anything else that might come up. I found out, through that simple little meeting, that he wasn't sure the vacant position would continue to look the same. In other words, he thought maybe some part-time help would suffice.
A week or two later, I found myself in the principal's office again, this time at his request. He asked if I would be willing to try a temporary, part-time position in the office. It sounded like a perfect fit for me, so of course, I said, "yes"! So, I will work for the remaining 3 weeks of the year, and hopefully, by next school year, it will become a permanent part-time job. I started yesterday. I couldn't ask for a more ideal situation, especially considering my children are all the same school for 3 more years.
I'm not counting on this as a permanent situation until the trial period is over. But I believe that God's hand is in it, and I will continue to trust that He will work all things to the good.
